BeerPad was created by Anthony Ouwehand for his fourth year Multimedia thesis project at McMaster University. The original goal was to create a beer recipe management system that records and ranks recipes. After some research it was discovered that a similar recipe management system called Brewthology was already in the works. With an interest in creating a more interactive system, Anthony set out to ehance Brewthology with AJAX while ensuring that the system was backward compatible. As a result, adding, modifying, and ranking recipes became easier and Brewthology more usable. You can compare BeerPad to the original Brewthology system.
